Welcome

Prayer for a Brother…

Have you been asked to pray for a fellow Christian? I’m sure you probably have. Some might call it having enough Grace to accept and ask for love from another. Others might view this as compassion.

What if you get a request from an ordinarily resolute and confident Christian? What if you can sense pain and anguish in their textual conversations? Worse yet, what if you can hear the affliction and torment in their voice?

For me, that declares a sense of urgency. I find myself in this position today. I have a brother, one who is near and dear to me, who has requested that I pray for him. I didn’t ask why and I don’t need to. This man isn’t prone to asking for prayer, and certainly not with this level of emphasis.

So, I respectfully ask you as my fellow Christian brothers and sisters, to lift this man in prayer. Whatever burden is upon him may be elevated only through the Holy Spirit. Seek not the counsel of men in cases like this, but rather, the Gospel. Ask that the Spirit permeate his very soul. God knows this man, so we don’t need to…

May we show ourselves to be salt and light to a brother in the throws of something nearly too heavy to lift. I pray it be.
